On Wednesday morning, Eliud Kipchoge, the world's greatest marathoner of all time, landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after a historic marathon in Vienna, Austria.

Just three days ago, Kipchoge made history by becoming the first man to run a marathon in under two hours at the Ineos marathon in Vienna, Austria. He had left the country last week ahead of the iconic event, but chose to return home using Kenya Airways.

The airline was proud to fly Kipchoge back home, announcing his return on their social media pages. 'Honored to fly our champion Eliud Kipchoge home from Amsterdam. The Pride is so proud of you,' KQ wrote.

After the marathon, Kipchoge flew to the Netherlands with his manager Jos Hermerns to recover from the historic run. He stayed there for about two days before starting his journey home.

It was an exceptional weekend for Kipchoge and Kenya in general. The world marathon record holder received recognition from multiple sports personalities, including former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure and Liverpool's James Milner.

His compatriot Brigid Kosgei also made headlines by shattering the women's marathon world record with her victory at the Chicago marathon on Sunday, finishing in 2:14:04.
