Francis Atwoli's Polygamous Marriage Sparks Concern ¶
Francis Atwoli, the 69-year-old COTU Secretary General, has sparked controversy with his decision to marry a third wife, Mary Kilobi, who is twice his age.
During a funds drive in Kakamega on Sunday, Atwoli clarified that he did not marry due to lust, but rather because of his tight work schedule and the need for someone to support him in his old age.
Atwoli expressed his hope that God will forgive him for marrying a second wife, citing the Bible as his reference.
He also warned the youth against rushing into marriage, saying that women often shift their attention to their children and grandchildren after bearing them.
Atwoli's plea for God's pardon is reminiscent of Barnabas, who also sought forgiveness for his actions.
