Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was arrested on October 16, 2019, in connection with a violent incident in Ganda that left one person dead.
According to reports, Jumwa had stormed the residence of ODM candidate Ruben Katana on October 15, 2019, in the evening to protest a meeting that had been organized by Katana and his supporters.
The incident sparked violence, leading to the death of one person.
Police had set up a roadblock outside Katana's residence on Tuesday evening, but they were unable to apprehend Jumwa until the following night.
Four other suspects were also arrested and taken to the KPA police station in Mombasa for questioning.
