Published on October 16, 2019, a Probox owner, Ruttoh from Eldoret, reached out to Baraza JM for assistance with a peculiar issue. Ruttoh's vehicle had been on the road for one year and was initially consuming 8.5km/litre of fuel. However, after removing the muffler, the fuel economy improved to 12.5km/litre. Despite changing the plugs, the engine's performance remained unchanged.
Baraza JM responded by pointing out the inconsistency in Ruttoh's claims, assuming a typo in the fuel consumption figures. He advised Ruttoh to reinstall the muffler and observe if the problem resolves itself. Additionally, Baraza suggested that Ruttoh change his driving style by easing off the accelerator and avoiding excessive revving.
Baraza JM also addressed another query from Vincent, an Allion 2.0 owner, who was experiencing power loss after a short drive. Baraza listed several possible causes, including low compression, dirty filters, and malfunctioning sensors, and advised Vincent to get his vehicle diagnosed.
Lastly, Baraza JM shared a humorous anecdote about a Range Rover owner who had named her child Navara Yana Augustine, citing the possible connection between the name 'Navara' and the Nissan Navara pickup truck. He also delved into the meanings of the name 'Navara' and its possible connections to a chess grandmaster and a Land Rover model.
Finally, Baraza JM offered advice to Lomern'gole, who was planning to purchase a Subaru Forester. He recommended the SG5 model over the SG9, citing its better fuel consumption and maintenance records.
