Published on October 16, 2019, a chaotic scene unfolded in Ganda, Malindi County, resulting in the tragic death of a man.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her team allegedly forced their way into the home of ODM candidate Ruben Katana, who was meeting agents to prepare for the Thursday mini-poll in the Ganda Ward by-election.
The incident occurred at the Penduliani home of Mr. Katana, where the person shot dead was an uncle to the ODM candidate.
Earlier, armed police officers had visited the home, but later provided security after being informed that the meeting had nothing to do with campaigns.
However, Ms. Jumwa and her team allegedly forced themselves into the home, prompting the police to use teargas canisters to disperse the rowdy youths.
According to witness Hamisi Omar, chaos erupted when Ms. Jumwa and her bodyguards arrived at the home.
"Ms. Jumwa who looked angry forced herself to the home despite police blocking her from the private meeting," Mr. Omar said.
