Youthful Appointments in Uhuru's Government Raise Eyebrows ¶
President Uhuru Kenyatta's government has been criticized for appointing several elderly individuals to key positions, sparking outrage among Kenyans.
One such appointment is that of Mary Wambui, a 69-year-old former Othaya MP, who was recently appointed the chairperson of the National Employment Authority for a term of three years.
Wambui's appointment comes at a time when SportPesa laid off over 400 youthful workers, leaving many wondering why the government is prioritizing the employment of older individuals.
