Church Bus Caught Ferrying Bhang on Nairobi-Mombasa Highway

On Tuesday, a church bus was intercepted on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway, revealing a surprising cargo: 230 rolls of bhang, estimated to be worth Ksh.46,000.

According to Voi OCPD Bernastein Shali, the bus belonged to PEFA church and had been hired to ferry mourners from Kilifi to Homa Bay. However, the bus was impounded while heading back to Kilifi, with the bhang found packed together with omena.

The three individuals on board, including the driver and his assistant, were arrested and are set to be arraigned on Wednesday.

Confirming the incident, OCPD Shali stated, 'The bus was carrying 230 rolls of bhang estimated to be worth Ksh.46,000.'
