On October 15, 2019, High Court Judge Stella Mutuku made a landmark ruling, releasing Sarah Wairimu on bail after she spent over 40 days in Lang'ata Women's Prison.

Wairimu was accused of being involved in the murder of her husband, Tob Cohen, who went missing between July 19 and 20, 2019, and his body was later found in a water tank at their home in Kitusuru.

Wairimu's lawyer, Phillip Murgor, successfully negotiated a KSh 2 million bail, allowing her to walk out of court with a smile on her face.

However, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kinoti has been accused of defying the court's orders, a claim made by Wairimu herself.
