On October 15, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the main suspect in the murder of Tob Cohen, filed a court case against DCI George Kinoti for allegedly defying a court order.

According to Sarah, Kinoti had released a statement on his Facebook page claiming to have carried out the murder of Cohen.

However, Sarah has denied the allegations and was released on a KSH 2 million bond.

The case, which also involves Juma Victor Owiti and a journalist, is set to be heard on October 30.

High Court Judge Jessie Lessit had previously ordered Kinoti to refrain from discussing the case in the media and from releasing any evidence related to the murder.

Despite this, Kinoti allegedly went ahead and discussed the case in the media, which led to Sarah filing the court case against him.

High Court Judge Stella Mutuku had previously released Sarah on October 11, 2019, and ordered her to appear in court on October 15, 2019, to face charges of murder.

However, Sarah's lawyer, Philip Murgor, has maintained that Kinoti's actions were a clear breach of the court order and that Sarah should not be held responsible for Kinoti's actions.
