On October 15, 2019, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, the widow of slain Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, filed a case in Milimani Law Court seeking to have Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti behind bars.

According to the case filed by Sarah's lawyer Philip Murgor, the DCI and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) disregarded an order issued on September 16 by Justice Jessie Lessit, directing them to desist from addressing the media on the investigations and evidence alleged to exist in Cohen's murder case.

Sarah now wants George Kinoti, Juma Owiti, an advocate from the ODPP's office, and journalist John Kamau arrested and detained for at least six months.

She claimed that all three individuals mentioned above disregarded Justice Jessie's order, with the DCI issuing a series of tweets that assumed her guilt and discussed the Cohen murder case in a Dutch paper on September 18.

Additionally, Sarah faulted Owiti for publishing an article on his Facebook page as an academic post while assuming her guilt, and Kamau for publishing sensational, false, and prejudicial articles on the ongoing Cohen murder case investigations, quoting police investigators despite the court order of September 16 not to air anything on media.
