Peaky Blinders, one of the UK's best TV shows, is set in Birmingham, England, and follows the Shelby crime family as they try to move up in the world through both legal and illegal means.

Season 5 of the show is set to release on Netflix on October 4, 2019, just a couple of months after the new season premiered on BBC One in August.

What to Expect from Season 5

Season 5 will jump from 1927 to 1929, where the Shelbys are now dealing with the aftermath of the 1929 stock market crash.

"I think it's fair to say the stakes are higher for the Peaky Blinders now more than ever," said Cillian Murphy in a recent interview with Metro. "The fortune they have amassed over the past 10 years has just been stolen away from them...They have to kind of go back to some of their more traditional means of earning cash—more underhand and less conventional."

Returning Cast Members

Returning cast members include Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, and Finn Cole, as well as newcomers Anya Taylor-Joy and Sam Claflin.

However, Tom Hardy, who played Alfie Solomons, won't be back, as the character was killed off last season.

Will Season 5 be the Last?

No, series creator Steven Knight previously revealed that he plans to make seven seasons of Peaky Blinders.

"My ambition is to make it a story of a family between two wars, so always I've wanted to end it with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939," Knight said.
