On October 12, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Fort Worth, Texas, when Atatiana Jefferson was fatally shot by a police officer at her mother's house.
According to reports, Jefferson's mother was in the hospital at the time of the incident, and her nephew was playing video games with her.
The officer, identified as Aaron Dean, allegedly conducted a welfare check at the residence, but he failed to identify himself as a police officer.

Seconds later, shots were fired, and Jefferson was killed.

Fort Worth police declined to comment on whether Dean was arrested by one of their officers or if he turned himself in.
The investigation is ongoing, and the community is still reeling from the tragic loss of life.
