Former Nation FM radio presenter Angela Angwenyi has been left homeless after auctioneers took over her posh house at Jacaranda Gardens estate in Nairobi to recover a debt she owes.
Angwenyi's financial difficulties began after she was named in corrupt dealings associated with the National Youth Service (NYS) scandal, in which her company, Out of the Box Solutions Ltd, was awarded a Ksh302 million tender.
On October 15, 2019, Garam Auctioneers placed a notice in the newspapers announcing the planned auction of the apartment, which is part of Jacaranda estate along Kamiti Road after the Northern Bypass.

Angwenyi was awarded the consultancy contract to publicise tenders for women and the youth, but she was only paid Ksh90 million, which is 30% of the total amount agreed upon, according to her testimony before the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
She claimed to have completed 60% of the work, but the PAC stopped payments, leaving her with outstanding debts.
Angwenyi has yet to appear in court, where several individuals, including former Youth Affairs and Gender principal secretary Lillian Omollo, are facing charges related to the scandal.
