Published on October 15, 2019, Bandari coach Bernard Mwalala has hailed their recent Tanzania tour as a crucial morale booster ahead of their continental assignment against Horoya AC of Guinea.

The team's mixed results in Tanzania, including a 1-0 loss to Simba SC and a 1-0 win against Coastal Union, have been overshadowed by the experience gained during the tour.

“We went to Tanzania for experience, and I'm glad we have gained a lot from the two friendlies as we are ready for Horoya,” said Mwalala.

Bandari will face Chemelil Sugar at home before jetting out to face Horoya in the Confederations Cup first leg tie in Conakry on October 27, followed by the second leg in Nairobi on November 3.

The team has already dispatched Al Ahly Shandy of Sudan and US Ben Guerdane of Tunisia in the previous rounds to book a date with the Guinean giants Horoya AC.

For the Dockers, reaching the group stage will be a remarkable feat in their history.
