However, Fidel's widow, Lwam Bekelle, has rubbished Ida's claims, stating that it was the first time she had heard about the twins since Fidel's death in 2015. Bekelle also pointed out that the attached birth certificates to the affidavit do not indicate the father of the twins, leaving the paternity of the children unclear.
