On Monday, October 14, 2019, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) witnessed a slight decline in its indices. The NSE 20 share Index dropped 18.63 points to 2436.64 points, while the All Share Index (NASI) shed 1.23 points to 146.41.

The NSE 25 Share index also dropped 18.41 points to settle at 3475.37. The Banking Sector saw shares worth Sh 6 million transacted, accounting for 4.26% of the day's traded value. Co-operative Bank moved 212,000 shares valued at Sh.2.5 million between Sh.12.00 and Sh12.75.

Kenya's energy sector also saw significant trading, with shares worth 969,000 traded and accounting for 0.68% of the day's traded value. KenGen closed the day 1.72% higher to Sh.5.80, moving 113,000 shares valued at Sh.658,000.

The Manufacturing and Allied sector had shares worth 101 million traded, accounting for 71.83% of the day's traded value. East African Breweries Limited was the day's main feature, with 526,000 shares valued at Sh101 million changing hands at between Sh.192.25 and Sh.193.00.

Safaricom had 1.1 million shares valued at Sh.31.6 million transacted at between Sh.27.90 and Sh 28.45, representing 22.30% of the day's traded value. The Bond market had bonds worth Sh1.3 billion transacted.
