Published on October 15, 2019, Infinix S5, an update to the Infinix S4, is now official in India. The device starts at approximately KES 13,000 for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
Interestingly, in Kenya, for the same price, you'll get less RAM and storage. This is a common trend with Infinix phones, where variants sold in Africa are differently spec'd for almost the same launch prices in India.
The Infinix S5 boasts a quad-camera setup featuring a 16-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel Super Macro lens, a 5-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there's a single 32MP selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture.
The phone runs on Android 9 Pie with the XOS 5.5 Cheetah skin, powered by a Helio P22 SoC, and a 4000mAh battery. The display is a 720p panel with an aspect ratio of 20:9, boasting a 90.5% screen-to-body ratio and up to 480 nits of screen brightness.
Availability in Kenya is yet to be confirmed, but should it come, we expect two or even three variants that will differ only in RAM and storage options.
