On January 4, 2015, Fidel Odinga, Raila's firstborn, died at 41 after a night out with friends, leaving behind a multi-billion empire.

Leaked court documents have revealed that Raila's family is in a dispute with Fidel's widow, Lwam Bekelle, over the administration of his property.

According to the documents, Fidel's mother, Ida, and sister, Winnie Odinga, listed 10 properties and seven bank accounts that they claim belonged to Fidel.

The properties include Fidel's home at Tipuana Park, House Number Six in Karen, three parcels of land in Kisumu and Kajiado, and 250 shares in Axum Investments Limited and Ambesa Investments Limited.

They also listed two Range Rovers, a Nissan Sunny, and a Mercedes Benz, as well as seven bank accounts at various banks.

However, Lwam Bekelle has denied knowledge of some of the accounts and properties, claiming that they were jointly owned with Fidel or were sold to others.

She also stated that the Karen home was held under a joint tenancy with herself and Fidel, and therefore does not form part of the deceased's estate.

Ida has defended her move to court to block Lwam, arguing that she cut communication with the Odingas after she fled her matrimonial home in Tipuana Park in Karen, Nairobi immediately after the deceased was buried.

The case is set to be mentioned on Wednesday, October 16.
