On October 15, 2019, Tanzanian music legend Dudu Baya sounded a warning to his fellow artistes in Tanzania, cautioning them against aping the style of Diamond Platnumz.
According to Baya, Tanzanian artistes are imitating Diamond's luxurious lifestyle, including hiring expensive bodyguards, without understanding the rationale behind his actions and activities.
Recently, Diamond Platnumz's manager, Babu Tale, explained that Diamond hires professional bodyguards due to the millions of shillings worth of jewelry he owns, and pays them competitive rates. Diamond's various investments also enable him to afford the luxury of bodyguards.
