Leaked court documents have shed light on the intricate details of the multi-billion shilling empire left behind by Raila Odinga's firstborn, Fidel Odinga, who died at 41 in 2015.
Fidel's death on January 4, 2015, after a night out with friends, has sparked a heated dispute between his mother, Ida, and sister, Winnie Odinga, and his widow, Lwam Bekelle.
The dispute revolves around the administration of Fidel's property, which includes 10 properties and seven bank accounts.
According to the court documents, the properties listed include Fidel's home at Tipuana Park, House Number Six in Karen, three parcels of land in Kisumu and Kajiado, 250 shares each in Axum Investments Limited and Ambesa Investments Limited, and several vehicles.
However, Lwam Bekelle has denied knowledge of some of the accounts and properties listed, claiming that they were jointly owned or sold to third parties.
Ida Odinga has defended her move to court, arguing that Lwam Bekelle cut communication with the family after she fled her matrimonial home in Tipuana Park in Karen, Nairobi, immediately after Fidel's burial.
Lwam Bekelle has rubbished Ida's claims, terming them as false and stating that she fled her home due to her mother-in-law's continuous false and unkind remarks about her family, friends, and herself.
The case is set to be mentioned on Wednesday, October 16.
