Manchester United's Decline: A Lack of Passion and Vision

Published on October 15, 2019

Manchester United's current state is a far cry from their glory days under Sir Alex Ferguson. With a lack of passion, vision, and leadership, the team is struggling to find its identity and deliver results.

As John Kyanda, a football enthusiast and analyst, points out, the team's current squad is full of 'slay kings' who are more interested in donating points to mid-table and relegation-bound teams than fighting for a win.

The team's lack of passion and fighting spirit is evident in their performances, which have been disjointed and incoherent. The playing unit is a bunch of happy-go-lucky kids who are pampered with huge monies but deliver nothing.

One of the main reasons for Manchester United's decline is the lack of vision from their coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Solskjaer's tactics are visionless, and he is soft on his players, which explains why they can't take things seriously anymore.

Another reason for the team's decline is the lack of leadership from their captain, Paul Pogba. Pogba's mood swings and inconsistency have made him a liability on the pitch, and the team's defense is over-reliant on Harry Maguire, who is still getting accustomed to the club's culture.

Manchester United's current squad is not good enough to win a title, and the team's lack of depth is a major concern. The team's defense is average, and the midfield is lacking in creativity and leadership.

With the team's current form, it's unlikely that they will finish in the top six. In fact, it's a miracle if they finish in the top six. From Kyanda's back-row seat, there is no way out unless they cross over to the Championship or better still consider a stint in the Kenyan Premier League.

As Kyanda concludes, Manchester United's decline is a result of a lack of passion, vision, and leadership. The team needs a major overhaul if they want to return to their glory days.
