On January 4, 2015, Fidel Odinga, the son of former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, died under mysterious circumstances after a night out with friends.
His death has sparked a bitter court battle between his family and widow, Lwam Bekelle, over the administration of his estate.
According to court papers, Raila's wife Ida and her daughter Winnie are seeking to block Lwam from solely administering Fidel's estate, citing a statement Ida recorded with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives as the source of their fallout.
Ida and Winnie accuse Lwam of cutting all contact with the family soon after Fidel's burial and failing to cooperate with their efforts to establish the cause of his death.
Lwam has denied these allegations, terming Ida's statement 'preposterous, offensive and made in bad taste.'
She claims Ida was in possession of Fidel's autopsy report, which has remained under lock and key.
The mystery surrounding Fidel's death continues to rage on.
