On Monday, a man drove to the Mount Shasta Police Department in Northern California, confessing to killing four relatives, including one whose body was in the car.

The man, who has not been named, drove over 200 miles from his apartment in Roseville, California, to the police station in Mount Shasta, a town of over 3,200 people.

According to Sgt. Robert Gibson of the Mount Shasta Police Department, the man was calm and 'matter of fact' when he turned himself in, saying 'I want to confess to a murder.'

When asked why he had committed the crime, the man remained silent, handing over the keys to the red Mazda sedan containing the body instead.

The killings are being investigated by the Roseville Police Department, and authorities have not released further information about the victims, except to say that the man described them as his family.

The authorities also stated that they do not believe there are any other suspects in the killings.
