October 15, 2019, marked a significant career move for Kimani Mbugua, a Citizen TV presenter, as he transitioned from Nation Media-owned station NTV to Royal Media Services' television channel.

According to an interview with Pulse Live, Mbugua explained that the switch was driven by the desire for career growth and the opportunity to explore new challenges. Before making the move, he consulted with his seniors at NTV, who supported his decision to exit the station.

"Basically, I can say growth," Mbugua said. "I talked to my manager's back then at NTV, which was a fantastic place to work, however, you know career growth is very important in any field. These things happen and I'm not the first one to switch stations and of course, to secure the bag, my friend," he added.

At Citizen TV, Mbugua has had the chance to explore new things and has been in a creative space where he could come up with different ideas. He credits his colleagues, including veterans in the industry, for their guidance and support.

Mbugua hosts "Broken News," a show that was conceptualized by Waihiga Mwaura and Jacque Maribe. He expressed his gratitude for working with seasoned professionals in the industry.
