President Kenyatta has made new appointments to key state positions, reflecting his commitment to empowering Kenyans in various sectors.
Among those appointed is former Othaya Member of Parliament Mary Wambui, who has been named Chairperson of the National Employment Authority. Her appointment, announced by Labor Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani in a gazette notice dated October 14th, 2019, will see her serve for the next three years.
The National Employment Authority plays a crucial role in providing a comprehensive institutional framework for employment management, enhancing employment promotion interventions, and increasing access to employment by the youth, minorities, and marginalized groups.
Edwin Jacob Abonyo, the widower of former Bomet Governor Dr. Joyce Laboso, has also been appointed to a state position. He has been named a member of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, alongside other esteemed individuals.
The State Corporations Advisory Committee advises the government on all matters pertaining to the general administration of State Corporations.
The appointments take effect from October 14th, 2019.
