On Monday, the third leg of the Safari Tour at the Royal Nairobi Golf Club saw Thika Sports Club's Simon Ngige take the lead with a two-round score of 140.

Ngige, who shared the first-round lead with local pro Erick Ooko, fired a one-under-par 71 in the second round, while Ooko dropped to joint third with David Wakhu of Golf Park and Sigona's Mohit Mediratta.

Wakhu carded 73, Mediratta 75, and Ooko 76, with the three tying on one-over-par 145.

Ngige's day wasn't without its challenges, as he dropped a shot at the first hole but made up for it with birdies at the fourth and seventh holes.

He will start Tuesday's third round five clear shots from Wakhu, Ooko, and Mediratta, and six shots ahead of amateur Daniel Nduva from Nyali Golf and Country Club Mombasa.
