Heavy rain in Nairobi has led to the rescheduling of two Kenya Hockey Union Premier League matches, originally set to take place at the City Park Stadium over the weekend.
Former champions Kenya Police were scheduled to face United States International University of Africa, while Wazalendo were set to take on Greensharks.
However, due to the heavy downpour, the stadium became unplayable, prompting the Kenya Hockey Union to consult with the teams and agree on new dates.
According to KHU deputy Match and Fixtures Secretary Moses Majiwa, the teams have agreed to reschedule the matches, with Police's clash against the students now set for November 20, and the Wazalendo tie against Sharks to be played on either October 27 or November 3.
“With the heavy rain we are currently experiencing, some of the matches might be rescheduled but we hope it gets better so that we are not left in this situation,” Majiwa said.
The rescheduling of the matches has not affected the top four positions on the league standings, with Butali Sugar Warriors remaining unbeaten at the top of the table, followed closely by Wazalendo, Sharks, and Kenya Police.
