Published on October 14, 2019, the nominees for the prestigious award were selected by an international panel of athletics experts representing all six continental areas of the IAAF.
Two Kenyans, Eliud Kipchoge and Timothy Cheruyiot, are among the 11 athletes vying for the top honor.
The nominees for the 2019 Male World Athlete of the Year are:

- Steven Gardiner (BAH)
- Sam Kendricks (USA)
- Eliud Kipchoge (KEN)
- Noah Lyles (USA)
- Daniel Stahl (SWE)
- Christian Taylor (USA)
- Karsten Warholm (NOR)
Fans can vote online via the IAAF's social media platforms, with individual graphics for each nominee posted on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram this week.
The IAAF Council's vote will count for 50% of the result, while the IAAF Family's votes and the public votes will each count for 25% of the final result.
