On a 9th floor of Trademark Hotel at Nairobi's Village Market, a door with a heavy wooden design reminiscent of the Prohibition Period of the 1920s and early 30s beckons.

However, instead of a secret invitation to a discrete members club, it leads to a bar that sits sturdy in the middle of a spacious eatery.

With a glass wall overlooking the lovely vista of Nairobi and lounge-like seats running alongside it, the eatery is an ideal spot for heroes to drink, eat, and schmooze with other heroes.

According to the hotel's design, the space is where art, fantasy, indulgence, and individuality collide in a burst of energy and color.

Here, food celebrates heroes, from comics and entrepreneurs to athletes, authors, and protectors of the environment.

The eatery serves sushi, despite not being a Japanese restaurant, and offers heroic drinks like 'Witch Doctor' (Cachaça basil syrup, passion pulp, orange juice) or Mask of Sorrow (Jose Cuervo, mango, white wine, basil syrup).

But what good are heroes if there are no villains? The eatery also has a menu featuring items like 'Shaving Cream' (Gran Marnier, cream vodka, coconut shavings).

Feeling risqué? Try out their 'Shaving Cream' or indulge in desserts like 'Roadside Royalty' (roasted maize ice-cream) or 'Kitu Kidogo' (chai ice cream mandazi).

As the saying goes, be careful what doors you open.
