Mama Ida Odinga has spoken out against politicians who use her husband's name to gain power in the upcoming 2022 general elections.
Speaking at a function to welcome Andrew Omwende, the ODM candidate for the Wadi constituency, on October 12, Ida emphasized that her family is not ready to endorse any politician for any position in 2022.
Ida stated that politicians should work hard to earn the support of the people, rather than relying on her family's name to get elected.
"Those who are in leadership and want to be re-elected or those who want to be elected for the first time, they should not put their hopes on my family that we will endorse them, they should work hard to earn the support of the people," Ida said.
Ida also emphasized that there will be no rigging of votes, as the ODM party is committed to fair play.
