On September 26, 2019, a 45-year-old man was charged with the murder of a 12-year-old boy in Mathira Constituency, Nyeri County.
Appearing before Judge Abigail Mshilla, Charles Muriuki denied the charges of killing the Class 6 pupil and dumping his body at Ragati forest.
He was released on a bond of Ksh.500,000 with a surety of similar amount, on condition that he should not interfere with witnesses and not be involved in any misconduct.
The court was told that the deceased was the son of the suspect's former lover.
The case will be mentioned on November 21, with the hearing scheduled to begin on December 21.
