Published on October 14, 2019, the European Global Banking and Finance Awards 2019 recognized Credit Bank as the Best SME Partner Bank of the Year in East Africa.

As part of its annual awards programme, the European celebrates achievement, innovation, and excellence in the corporate world. The programme aims to provide insight into various achievements within organizations.

Credit Bank has been at the forefront of enabling the growth of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Kenya through its Entrepreneurship hub, E-Hub. The hub seeks to establish systems and processes that benefit businesses, making them investor-ready.

The European recognized organizations and individuals that stood out from the crowd, with good governance, innovation, and quality of service being major considerations. CRDB Bank, a Tanzanian Bank, was also awarded as Bank of the Year, as well as Innovation in Financial Inclusion and Social Responsibility Bank of the Year in East Africa.

Recently, Credit Bank was funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) for onward lending to SMEs, as well as Oiko Credit through a 1 Billion buyout structure. The financier stated that the loans will be accessed by companies in the construction, agriculture, renewable energy, and manufacturing sectors.

Credit Bank has established a platform to support entrepreneurs in overcoming challenges they face.
