On Sunday, 37,000 home fans witnessed a nail-biting encounter between Sao Paulo and Corinthians, with the former emerging victorious thanks to a penalty scored by Reinaldo in the second half.

The decisive moment came 20 minutes into the second period when Manuel was penalized for pushing Vitor Bueno into the box, resulting in a spot kick for Sao Paulo.

Reinaldo made no mistake from the penalty spot, securing a 1-0 win for his team.

The result was a well-deserved one for Sao Paulo, who dominated the match with 15 shots on goal to Corinthians' three.

The three points lifted Sao Paulo into fifth place in Brazil's Serie A table, with both teams tied on 43 points, 15 points behind leaders Flamengo.
