On Sunday, 13 October, a group of Jubilee Members of Parliament (MPs) spoke out against the violence in Kibra, where ODM's Imran Okoth is vying for a seat in the upcoming November 7 poll.
Speaking at PCEA Emmanuel Church in Makina, the Jubilee MPs condemned the attack on their candidate, McDonald Mariga, who was campaigning in Kibra on Saturday, 12 October.
Kimani Ichung'wa, the Kikuyu MP, and Nixon Korir, the Lang'ata MP, accused Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati of inciting youths to stone Mariga's campaign convoy.
Ichung'wa urged all candidates and their supporters to maintain peace and allow the Kibra constituents to elect their preferred candidate.
He also warned Maina Kamanda, a Kieleweke nominated MP, to stop spreading propaganda that President Uhuru Kenyatta is supporting Mariga.
Korir said he would personally write to IEBC to disqualify Imran Okoth over the violence, adding that ODM leader Raila Odinga is in government courtesy of the 'Handshake' and therefore free to ask for votes anywhere.
