On October 14, 2019, a devastating tragedy occurred when a car plunged into the Indian Ocean at Likoni Ferry in Mombasa, claiming the lives of Mariam Kighenda and her daughter Amanda Mutheu.
John Wambua, Mariam's husband, has finally spoken out about the tragedy, raising critical questions about the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
During an interview with Nation Media Television, Wambua expressed his desire for the police to expedite their investigation into the cause of the car's slide into the ocean.
Wambua questioned how his wife could have reversed the car into the ocean, given that it was in parking mode and the handbrake was engaged.
He described his wife as a kind and God-fearing woman who was always willing to help others, and praised her hard work in managing their farm in Msambweni.
Wambua's comments come as the family awaits the results of a post-mortem examination, which will determine the final resting place of Mariam and Amanda in Makueni County.
