Kenya Falls to Mozambique in International Friendly

Kenya's Harambee Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Mozambique's Mambas in an international friendly match played at Kasarani Stadium on October 13, 2019.

Amânsio Canhembe scored the solitary goal that separated the two sides, handing Mozambique a crucial win away from home.

The match saw Stars head coach Francis Kimanzi name a strong line up, with Victor Wanyama returning to the fold after missing the last friendly encounter against Uganda.

Former Bandari FC goalkeeper Farouk Shikalo, who currently turns out for Tanzanian side Yanga, was introduced in goal for Kenya, replacing veteran Patrick Matasi who was overlooked for the role.

However, the tactical tweak made no impact, with the home side struggling to break Mozambique's stubborn backline.

Kenya's next assignment will be a trip to Cairo where they will battle Egypt in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
