Deputy President William Ruto has been warned by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala to stop passing messages to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga through third parties.
Malala's warning comes after former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa sent him to pass information from DP Ruto to Raila, but with a condition.
Echesa had claimed that the people behind Mumias Sugar Company's failure include Raila, who owes the firm Ksh300 million.
However, Malala pointed out that Luhyas were suffering in Nandi, yet DP Ruto was having an easy day in their backyard.
Malala told Echesa to ask his boss to protect their people as well before sending him to Raila.
Malala's statement was in response to Echesa's claims that Raila should clear the debts owed by his company and others to Mumias Sugar Company.
Following Thursday's remarks from a section of western Kenya leaders, DP Ruto was banned from touring the region over the ruthless Nandi eviction.
On October 10, a group of Western leaders led by Malala claimed that it was unacceptable for DP Ruto to keep quiet yet over 1,500 people were evicted despite owning the land.
