Published on October 13, 2019, the 2019 Condé Nast Readers' Choice Awards have crowned Sirikoi Lodge in Kenya as the world's best resort.

Located in the 62,000-acre Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Northern Kenya, Sirikoi Lodge is a luxury resort built by second-generation Kenyans and conservationists.

The resort features a main lodge, a three-bedroom house, and two- and four-bedroom tents, offering guests a range of activities including morning and evening game drives, bush walks, horseback rides, and helicopter rides to Mount Kenya for fly fishing.

Sirikoi Lodge has won several awards in the past, including the Eco-lodge of the Year award in 2015 and a spot on the Condé Nast Traveler Gold List of favourite hotels in the world three times – in 2016, 2017, and 2018.

The lodge was also crowned Africa's leading luxury lodge by the World Travel Awards in 2017.

Other Kenyan resorts that made it into the 2019 ranking include Maasai Mara's Richard River camp, Meru National Park's Elewana Elsa's Kopje, and Nanyuki-based Ol Jogi Home.

The Condé Nast Readers' Choice Awards take place annually to understand public travel habits and favourite luxury hotels and resorts.
