Edwin Van der Sar, a highly respected figure in the football world, has revealed his desire to return to Manchester United as a director of football. The 48-year-old Dutchman played a pivotal role in the club's success during Sir Alex Ferguson's tenure.

Van der Sar joined Manchester United in 2005 and went on to win three Premier League titles, as well as the Champions League in 2008. He later returned to his boyhood club, Ajax, as CEO and has since transformed the Dutch side into a European football powerhouse.

With Ajax's recent Champions League semi-final finish, Van der Sar's impressive work has sparked speculation about a potential return to Manchester United. The former goalkeeper has refused to rule out a possible switch, citing his affection for the club and its fans.

“Besides my family, my wife and kids and everything I have two loves in my life,” Van der Sar told Planet Futbol. “That’s Ajax, who gave me the opportunity to develop, they scouted me, they gave me the chance to shine in the world of football. And the last club of my career (Manchester United) also gave me a lot of attention, recognition and everything, developed at a later stage. And of course, I’d be interested in a position,” he declared.
