On October 13, 2019, a forum hosted by Nyandarua Woman Representative Faith Gitau brought together about 40 Parliamentarians from Central Kenya to discuss their support for Deputy President William Ruto.

The leaders acknowledged that their support for Ruto was unstoppable, citing the region's debt to Ruto for backing President Uhuru Kenyatta for two terms.

According to Kandara Member of Parliament Alice Wahome, President Kenyatta had promised to lead for 10 years, paving the way for Ruto to take over, and they had not heard him change his promise to support Ruto.

Wahome also stated that the Inua Mama Team, a development-focused group, would campaign for Ruto in the 2022 elections, traveling across the country to preach peace and unity.

As the Inua Mama Team, they aimed to ensure the country moved forward together, with Ruto as the Jubilee party's presidential candidate.
