Eliud Kipchoge Makes History with 1:59:40 Marathon Run

On October 12, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge made history by becoming the first runner to complete a marathon in under two hours, clocking an incredible 1:59:40 in Vienna, Austria.

As the world watched in awe, Kipchoge's historic run was met with widespread praise and admiration from fans and fellow athletes alike.

Italian football club AS Roma was among the top clubs to pay tribute to Kipchoge's achievement, taking to social media to congratulate him on his incredible feat.

However, in a humorous twist, a Twitter user challenged AS Roma to respond to a Swahili phrase, 'wamlambez,' which roughly translates to 'you're being proud of him for being Kenyan.'

Instead of responding in Swahili, AS Roma's Twitter account responded in a mix of English and Swahili, saying, 'Leo Kenya wote wanajivunia yeye ni mkenya,' which translates to 'Today, all Kenyans are proud of him for being Kenyan.'

The response left many in awe, with some calling on AS Roma to start a separate Twitter account in Swahili.

However, AS Roma instead signed off with a humorous message, thanking everyone for helping them learn some Swahili.
