On October 12, 2019, a rare sight was witnessed in Vienna, Austria, as a crowd of spectators, mostly Kenyans living in Austria, gathered to cheer legendary athlete Eliud Kipchoge. Kipchoge, who covered 42 kilometers in 1 hour, 59 minutes and 40 seconds, made history by running a full marathon in under two hours.
Among the spectators was a man who bore a striking resemblance to the late Kibra MP Ken Okoth. The man, who was all smiles, was spotted as Deputy President William Ruto greeted the crowd.
The man, who received mixed reactions from Kenyans on Twitter, later identified himself as Amola Ken. In a tweet, he clarified that he is not Ken Okoth, saying, 'For the record am not Ken Okoth Vienna was epic.'
Ken Okoth succumbed to colorectal cancer on July 26, 2019, after a spirited 2-year battle.
