On October 11, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the widow of late Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, was granted bail after filing an affidavit stating she could sustain herself.

As part of her bail requirements, Wairimu listed at least 10 properties worth over Sh9 million, which she claimed she could utilize to sustain herself.

Among the properties listed include Mahiga/Kihome/1033 worth Sh1 million, Mahiga/Kihome/1705 worth Sh1.6 million, and KJD/Ntashart/9072 worth Sh300,000, jointly owned with Renee Gathoni.

Wairimu also stated that she has family and friends, including one Mama Lucy Mwangi, who has agreed to accommodate her at her house during the trial.

She was granted a Sh4 million bond and two sureties, with the alternative of Sh2 million bail.

Justice Stella Mutuku ordered that Wairimu should not contact Cohen's two siblings following her release and also prohibited her from going near the business Tob Ltd.
