On October 12, 2019, Jacque Maribe, a former Citizen TV journalist, made a surprise return to social media after a one-year hiatus.
The move comes after she and her ex-fiancé Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu were accused of killing businesswoman Monica Kimani in 2018.
Monica's body was discovered in the bathtub of her posh Kilimani apartment, with her neck slit ear to ear and her hands bound behind her back.
During the investigation, detectives took control of Jacque's social media accounts, which she had not used since her arrest.
However, on October 12, 2019, Jacque broke her silence to congratulate Eliud Kipchoge on his historic achievement in the Ineos 1:59 challenge in Vienna.
In a congratulatory message, Jacque wrote, '@kipchogeeliud thank you, for sharing this moment with us. For allowing us to witness history. For showing us that we can teach our children that no human is limited. We are proud. I am proud. Kenya is proud. Thank you.'
She added, 'You are worth making a comeback for.'
