Kenyan musician Akothee was set to perform in Uganda later this year, but her recent social media appearances have led to her being denied a performance visa.
According to a letter circulating on social media, Ugandan President Museveni has ordered the denial of Akothee's entry into the country, citing her immorality.
Akothee approached the Ugandan embassy in Nairobi early this week to set up dates for her music tour, but was told to check back later.
After proper scrutiny, State House Kampala concluded that Akothee's behavior on stage is not suitable for Ugandan youth.
Major Lubaale, an aide to the President, stated, 'She is a bad influence and lacks self-respect. I watched her performances on YouTube and with the way she immorally behaves on stage, I conclude she is not the right musician to entertain our youth.'
Uganda has hosted several artists who are considered controversial, but Akothee's level of immorality is deemed too high for the country to stomach.
Akothee has a history of arrogance and online wars with fans and fellow musicians, which has led the Ugandan government to deny her entry into the country.
