Published on October 12, 2019, Unai Emery's job security at Arsenal hangs in the balance as the team struggles to qualify for the Champions League.
Emery, who signed a two-year deal in 2018, has been given a target by the Gunners' chiefs to qualify the team for the elite European competition next term.
According to a report, Arsenal's head of football Raul Sanllehi told Emery that the team expects him to qualify for the Champions League this year, given their stronger squad compared to last season.
Emery has previously urged his players to be more realistic in their ambitions, aiming to finish among the top four teams in the Premier League.
However, if Arsenal fails to qualify for the Champions League, Emery's job may be on the line, as the club's board may not be satisfied with his performance.
Currently, Arsenal lies in third position in the Premier League standings with 15 points after eight games played this term.
