KPA Women's Basketball Team Dominates Tangit Sparks

On Saturday, October 12, 2019, Kenya Ports Authority women's team made a statement in the MadGoat National Classic Basketball League, defeating Tangit Sparks 103-22 at the KPA Hall Makande.

Taudencia Peter led the charge with 20 points, while Hilda Indasi and Christine Akinyi combined for 16 points, and Vilma Awino added 12. The team's dominance was evident from the start, leading 22-8 in the first quarter and 44-12 at the break.

According to KPA coach Mike Opel, the team has been working on their strategies ahead of the club championships in Dar es Salaam next week. "We have engaged a very high gear in training as we work on our strategies ahead of the club championships in Dar es Salaam next week. We want to reclaim the trophy from Equity Bank who beat us last season," he said.

Meanwhile, Kenyatta University Oryx narrowly escaped relegation from the women's Premier League after beating USIU-A Flames 51-43 in their last match at USIU-A Outdoor Courts in Nairobi.
