On October 12, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge made history by becoming the first human to complete a marathon in under two hours, a feat that has been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records.
However, before Kipchoge achieved this incredible milestone, a self-proclaimed 'maths wizard' named Clinton Otieno had made some bold predictions about the possibility of such a feat.
According to Otieno's calculations, Kipchoge's dream of completing a marathon in under two hours was nothing short of impossible.
But, as we now know, Kipchoge's determination and hard work paid off, and he successfully completed the INEOS 1:59 Challenge in a time of 1:59:40.
Following Kipchoge's historic achievement, Otieno was left feeling embarrassed and humbled, and he took to social media to apologize for his earlier predictions.
'Sahamanani. Ningependa kuzifutilia mbali semi zangu za awali. Pongezi Eliud Kipchoge,' Otieno tweeted.
It's a lesson in humility and the power of determination that we can all learn from Kipchoge's incredible achievement.
