Published on October 12, 2019, Air Afrik, a passenger and cargo carrier, is undergoing significant changes. The company will cut roughly 80 percent of its salaried staff in both Kenya and South Sudan by November as part of its restructuring process.

The move will eliminate 200 white-collar jobs, a major blow to the carrier's workforce. The company has been reviewing its process since losing a $20 million plane-leasing contract with the government of South Sudan.

According to the carrier, some roles have become redundant as they 'fit people into the right jobs.' The company acknowledged the challenging time ahead for its team, stating, "We understand this is a challenging time for our team."
