Eliud Kipchoge's Humble Inspiration ¶
On October 12, 2019, Eliud Kipchoge made history by becoming the first person to run a marathon in under two hours, completing the INEOS 1:59 challenge in 1:59:40.
According to Kipchoge, his motivation for taking on the challenge was not to achieve a personal best or set a new world record, but to inspire other athletes that nothing is impossible.
"It has taken 65 years for a human being to make history in sport. I’m the happiest man to run under 2-hours in order to inspire many people and tell them that," Kipchoge said immediately after the race.
His achievement sent shockwaves around the world, with many people taking to social media to congratulate him on his incredible feat.
As Kipchoge continues to inspire others with his remarkable achievement, he remains humble and grounded, believing that "Impossible is nothing".
